Blackhawks Announce Second Round of Roster Cuts

Brandon Pirri: Headed to Rockford

Before Saturday night’s game against Detroit, the Blackhawks made a number of roster cuts.

Forwards Evan Brophey and Jeff Taffe and veteran goalie Cristobal Huet were place on waivers on Saturday.

Forwards Rob Klinkhammer, Brandon Bollig and Brandon Pirri, and defensemen Jonathan Carlsson, Simon Danis-Pepin, Ryan Stanton and Ivan Vishnevskiy were assigned to Rockford.

Rockford, the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, begins training camp on Sunday.

The Blackhawks roster is now at 37 (22 forwards, 11 defensemen and four goalies).

    Brandon Pirri & Ivan Vishnevskiy’s cut is a bit of a surprise … this early anyway. Not sad to see Huet leave!
