  1. That,s a wack of players fighting for 3 spots!!!!! Nothing more than dangling the carrot in front of their noses .

  2. Click the link. It’s training camp. Tab listed prospects only. He’s assuming Schmaltz makes the club…or just forgot. The whole NHL team makes the camp roster

  3. Jake Dowell is far more useful as a spare/13th forward (or 4th line) than either Mashinter or Tootoo. Dowell can kill penalties, is excellent at face offs, and is as “tough” as either one of those goofs.

  4. I know this isn’t related to your story. But Tab can we get an up on Marian Hossa. He was taken to the hospital and didnt play in the 3rd of Team Europe’s game tonight. Took a puck off the skate at one point, but all I have read is specualtion on what it could be.

  5. Hope that Hossa will be better this year than he was tonight for Team Europe! I see him play tonight in real and Ouffff he looks older and slower.

  6. Respectfully, you left off a lot of guys, not the least of which is Kempny and Schmaltz who both are almost certain to make the team. Also, the more I read and see about Tootoo, the more he seems like a solid blue collar locker room guy. He the most throw-himself-on-a-grenade guy they have on the roster. Keith and Seabrook insisted that he be acquired. It will be an interesting camp. McNeill also deserves a chance.

  7. You can actually go to the Hawks official site and print it off. Pretty handy to have a hard copy to refer to.

Just a side note. I spoke with someone in the organization about 3 weeks ago and I brought up tryout possibilities, I was told not this year, they, meaning Stan and company, are totally committed to giving the kids a chance and seeing who steps up and grabs the opportunity presented.

They believe Schmaltz, Hartman, Hinostroza and Motte are very close to being NHL ready. That is not breaking new ground, the same names we’ve heard all summer since Prospect camp.

  8. Pretty sure they feel kempny and pokka ready for the nhl too. Kempny will probably start with the blackhawks and pokka may if not everybody healthy but will certainly will get an opportunity to play in chicago at some point this year.

  9. With the US eliminated, Kane will be at camp earlier than Hossa, Toews, Crawford, Kruger, Hjalmarsson. He probably won’t be there this weekend, however. Same goes for Kempny.
