Blackhawks Championship DVD Release

On Tuesday, July 20, the Chicago Blackhawks will once again celebrate their triumph as Stanley Cup Champions with the release of a new DVD.

There will be a standard DVD as well as Blu-Ray, featuring exclusive interviews with players, coaches and a unique look at the locker room celebration and parade in Chicago after the Hawks won the Stanley Cup for the first time in 49 years. The DVDs will also feature video from the 2006 and 2007 NHL Draft footage from historic selections of Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

The Blu-Ray editions will feature exclusive footage from the on-ice celebration and Phantom Camera highlights from Game 4 of the Finals in addition to all of the great highlights on the regular DVDs.

On Monday night, July 19, at 7:00 PM there will be a release party and special viewing party at Navy Pier that will be attended by Patrick Sharp, Dave Bolland, Brian Campbell and other members of the team.

Later Monday night and on Tuesday to celebrate the release, Sharp, Campbell and Bolland will be signing the DVDs at locations in Chicagoland. The three will be signing the DVDs only, not other memorabilia.

Starting at 11:59 PM on Monday, Sharp will be at the Best Buy at 1000 W. North Ave in Chicago.

At 11:00 AM on Tuesday, Campbell will be at Dominick’s at 1340 South Canal St in Chicago.

And at 6:00 PM, Bolland will be at Meijer at 15701 71st Court in Orland Park.

The Chicago Blackhawks® 2010 Stanley Cup® ChampionsDVD will be available on DVD for $24.98 SRP and on Blu-Ray for $34.99 SRP.

This will be the third time in the past two years that the Blackhawks have been featured in an exclusive DVD set. In 2009, the Blackhawks hosted the Winter Classic and a similar DVD was produced from that event, with exclusive behind-the-scenes material from that historic game against the Detroit Red Wings at Wrigley Field.

Earlier this year, Warner Home Video released the “Chicago Blackhawks – Great Moments and Classic Games” box set. Little did anyone know that this box set was just a couple months too early, as the team would march all the way to the Stanley Cup in 2010. This latest DVD is something every Blackhawks fan should add to their collection!
