From Blackhawks practice on Thursday:
- Jonathan Toews skated on his own. This is improvement.
- Niklas Hjalmarsson hopes to play against the Rangers.
- Sami Lepisto doesn’t look good; coach Joel Quenneville used “indefinite” and “out a while” when speaking about him on Thursday.
- Ray Emery will be between the pipes Friday night.
Losing Toews is like ripping the heart and soul out of the team.
As much as I want him back, I hope they aren’t rushing him back because of new new injuries. This is great news and I want him to hurry back, but not at the expense of his long-term health.
