Ab McDonald, who was a member of the Hawks’ 1961 championship team, has reportedly passed away. He was 82.
Ab McDonald, an important member of the 1961 Stanley Cup Champion Blackhawks, passed away last night at the age of 82.

The Blackhawks acquired McDonald in a trade that also brought Reg Fleming, Bob Courcy and Cecil Hoekstra to Chicago from Montreal on June 7, 1960. He scored 73 goals over the four seasons that followed before the Hawks traded him to Boston – again, with Reg Fleming – on June 8, 1964.
