Blackhawks Mourn A Loss In The Family

On Sunday, the Blackhawks announced the death of assistant equipment manager Clint Reif. He leaves a wife and four kids four days before Christmas. The Hawks released this statement:

“We are deeply saddened by the untimely loss of one of our own family members this morning, assistant equipment manager Clint Reif. Like all trainers and support staff within our organization, Clint was instrumental in helping our players and coaches prepare and compete both on and off the ice. Our sincerest sympathies go out to the Reif family.”

The Blackhawks will hold a moment of silence prior to Sunday night’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs and the players will wear these decals in remembrance of Reif.

  1. I am very sorry for the loss of such a young professional. Play this one for Clint, Blackhawks!

    Prayers with the family

  2. Too early, too soon, … Cliff please remember all of us, and we will keep you and your family in our prayers.

  3. I heard that he took his own life. I can not understand what would cause a guy that was obviously loved to do something like that around this time of year but he will be missed by the whole organization. R.I.P

  4. Boy what a tough tough body blow and tragedy no matter what time year. You could tell after the game q was just shell shocked. Sad sad day.

  5. So very sad to hear this yesterday at the game. Most of us can’t comprehend what would drive someone to take their own life when seemingly that life appears to be blessed with so much positive. Only the lurking demons within know the answers.

Hawks put a good one together for Clint. Had to be hard on the guys.

    Lets Go Hawks!
