Viktor Svedberg

Blackhawks Place 5 On Waivers

After sending a handful of players to Rockford Monday morning, the Blackhawks had five names on the NHL’s waiver list, which was released at noon ET.

Forwards Sam Carrick, Spencer Abbott and Pierre-Cedric Labrie and defensemen Cam Schilling and Viktor Svedberg are presently on waivers.

  1. Do you think the Bruins are going to pick up Sveddy to replace the aging Chara? LMAO at the prior comparisons to Chara!!! Chara at his age is still 10x better than Sveddy. I sure hope this is the last time I have to bring that up and someone claims him. Odds are he won’t be claimed because only Q would give him ice time in the NHL for some unknown reason.

  2. Q has other options now. Like 3 of them: Campbell, Kempny, Forsling. Svedberg is not a top pairing D man but he’s not as bad as you make out either. The guy who has really been stinking things up so far is TVR. His new acronym is going to become UFE–UnForced Error.

  3. I hope Carrick clears waivers, he could help as a fill in guy this year. Loved his bone jarring hit on Bertuzzi in Detroit yesterday. Gritty player, can skate, easy to see why they signed him as depth.

  4. Ok, is TVR really that bad? I see so many negative comments about him, but personally, I don’t get scared when he is on the ice like I do with Svedberg and Rosival and probably some others. I mean, I’ve seen him mess up here and there, but I also seem to recall some really great/important defensive plays, as well. If he is the worst defensemen we have on the ice, I’m perfectly fine with that.

  5. Hjalmarsson suspended 1 regular season game. Congrats to Gustav Forsling on making the opening night roster.

  6. ^ remember Hjarlmarsson plays the right side. The Blackhawks can slide Roszival in for a game to cover that absence.

  7. Roszival main job is to talk Czech to Kempny who only speaks Czech. Very similar to way they kept Viktor Tikhonov to help translate for Artem Panarin for first part season.

  8. T.V.R plays a very scary game ,.,.especially in his own end ,i have never been a fan .
Really another Nick choke Leddy type of guy ,.,only t.v.r. comes with some pedigree ,.
Being his brother and folks are situate with the dealings and professionalism it takes to navigate with agents and the like . Trevors skill set is 6 0r 7 d man at best .Got to be a better option in the makings than that, puck coffin lad. Best wishes to any and all young guns fighting for a spot .

  9. Thats right hjalmarsson does play on the right side might be good chance to see how much versatlity forsling and kempny have

  10. TVR isn’t that bad if used as 5-7 dman. He isn’t a top 4.

Sveddy sucks and is worse than I make him out to be. He is not an NHL defenseman. He can’t skate.

Jordyhawk. Good article. I believe that is exactly what we’ll see. Two vets on the top three lines with a rookie as the third guy. Our D is shaping up very well. If any of the kids seize the opportunities on those forward lines, we should, injuries aside, see another cup this year. Not sure what we’ll see as a 4th line. Probably a revolving door of players, but Q will come up with a good formula there. We are set in goal this year.

  11. Unless Hoss is on the line with Krugs. I like to stick to what we always call Krugs on 4th line. One of the best 4th lines in the league, a 4th line that can play against the other teams top lines.

Like having the fast young guys/get fa on 3rd line.

Stick to the same system of labeling the lines we have been since 2010.

  12. Rundblad is a +6 in his first 10 games for Zurich this season, if the Hawks get him on the concord, he could be in Chicago by the time Gusty and Svedberg arrive via car in Rockford. Lol

  13. Toews, kane, pinarin and anisimov are all going to be in the top 6 plus if hossa isn t he will be in the top 9 and panik, scmaltz, motte and hinostroza are the 4 front runners to fill those spots and krueger could be a 3rd line center if nobody else emerges in that spot or anchor the checking line he excels at and lots of depth to find who you want on the wings with him.

  14. Oh well, looks like Rundblad’s luck has truly run out. He just never was the same after the Backes hit late in game 7.
