Blackhawks Prospects In Action At Beanpot Tournament

On Monday night, while the Blackhawks continue a long weekend, a couple of the organization’s top prospects will be on display in one of the great college hockey events: the Beanpot Tournament.

Defenseman Adam Clendening and Boston University will play Harvard at 5 PM ET on Monday. Sources indicate the organization is really high on Clendening, who has posted 24 points (two goals, 22 assists) in 24 games for BU this year. He was drafted by the Blackhawks in the second round of the 2011 Draft.

Forward Kevin Hayes and Boston College will play Northeastern at 8 PM ET. Hayes, the “little” brother of Jimmy (listed at 6’3 and 205 pounds), has 19 points (five goals, 14 assists) in 27 games for BC this season. He was the team’s top pick, 24th overall, in the 2010 Draft.

The Beanpot Tournament has been held annually to determine bragging rights in Boston since 1952. The first two games of the Tournament will be played on Monday, and the consolation and championship games will take place next Monday, Feb. 13, at TD Garden in Boston.

Our boys will face off in the finals. For those who hadn’t seen, Hayes looks liked he played on the third line with no goals no assists in a 7-1 blowout. Clendening started for BU but posted no points in a 3-1 win.
