At the World Junior Championships on Friday, five Blackhawks prospects were in action.
For Sweden, Ludvig Rensfeldt and Joakim Nordstrom continued their strong play in a 9-1 win over Slovakia. Nordstrom scored his third goal in three games, and Rensfeldt was credited with his fifth assist of the tournament. Rensfeldt’s six points are tied for fifth in the tournament. Sweden plays Russia on Saturday night.
Unfortunately, the United States was eliminated from medal contention on Friday. Brandon Saad, Adam Clendening and Stephen Johns were held without a point and were minus-four combined in a 5-2 loss to the Czech Republic. The USA will play Canada on Saturday evening.
