The Blackhawks announce on Tuesday that they have agreed on a one-year deal with defenseman Michal Rozsival.
Rozsival, who turned 34 on Labor Day, played in 54 games with the Phoenix Coyotes last year. He recorded 62 hits and 91 blocked shots with 13 points (1 goal, 12 assists) while averaging 19:19 of ice time last year.
The Blackhawks continue to have a crowded blue line, and Roszival adds another name to the mix for ice time this coming season. Rozsival will battle with Johnny Oduya, Niklas Hjalmarsson and Nick Leddy for minutes this season, if there isn’t a trade before the season begins.
In related news, there still isn’t a CBA in place… so when Rozsival’s one-year deal begins is…?
