On Wednesday the Blackhawks officially announced that the team has agreed on a three-year entry-level deal with defenseman Gustav Forsling.

Defenseman Ville Pokka skated 12:08 as Finland defeated Hungary 3-0. Finland is perfect through four games and is in first place in Group B.

  1. Goalie for Hungary, someone will sign. Adam Vay, He’s 22 and 6’5 and played for the El Paso Rhinos in 14/15. He kept the Finn’s off the board for 36 minutes. He faced 51 shots and his team could only muster 13.

  2. I just really want the Hawks to add a 4th defenseman and top 6 winger in my world that’s whats missing!

  3. Any names SSHM?

Personally, I’d love to see Campbell on the backend. As for 1LW…Id love to see Vesey, but that’s got little chance.

Aside from Vesey, there’s really nobody I’d want that fits the bill.

Shane Doan said he’d prefer to stay in Arizona. Thats the first time I’ve ever heard him be open to going elsewhere. I don’t think he’s a top line player, but if Shaw leaves I’d love to see Doan win a cup.

  4. If we sign that goalie it will make us “Hungary for another cup.”
    Sorry I had to.

  5. @ Ernie

If the Hawks do indeed sign Kempny that would be a nice 3rd pair guy. Its not fair to expect him to slot into a top 4 role having NEVER played NHL hockey. Having 2 FA turn into top 6 and top 4 players back to back seem unlikely and are unreal expectations.

    Forwards Bodker & Frans Nielson

Defense much harder, good top 4 guys rarely become UFA, Schenn is interesting but likely to expensive and not worth the money. Tyson Barrie is an RFA and already has been rumored to be looking at 6 million a season, so thats not going to happen in Chicago.

I like Patrick Wiercioch, 25 yrs old, 23 pts in 53 games -1, Played a few playoff games and produced, he is 6’6 not flashy but is a stay at home type with a nice shot from the point. 2.7 million now and again an RFA.

  6. I wonder if Brian Campbell even has any interest whatsoever in coming back to Chicago. Florida has already stated that they wanted to resign him and Jagr. Jagr’s deal is already done. Campbell seems to be a big part of mentoring the team in Florida and everything I’ve seen and read ….. it seems like he really likes it there. He’s 37 years old now (I think) and he’s already with a good team. He has a young family. I’d love to see him in Chicago but it looks to me like Florida will do something to try to get him to stay.

  7. Vay not looking good today, Ernie, Wall and Espo. Hinostrova and Larkin scored in the second.

  8. I think the question on Campbell is more of a, do the Hawks want him ?

He was a Tallon signing. Stan traded him for cap reasons.

I bumped into Scotty at the Buffalo airport back in 2009 and asked him about Campbell. He said BC plays with absolutely no structure, runs all over the ice and gets out of position.

When the Hawks lost to Vancouver in 2011, there was video of Scotty Bowman screaming at Tallon in the Hawks box after a Canucks goal, because Campbell was caught chasing the puck in his own zone and Vancouver scored.

Keep in mind, Scotty still has a lot of say when it comes to the Hawks and he is not a fan of Brian Campbell. I doubt that has changed.
