  1. I take it, it’s a 2-way deal and that he will compete for the #7 slot with Schilling and Gustafsson.

If he does not make the Hawks he likely plays top pair in Rockford.

  2. Any word on the Russo kid from N.D. is he allowed to sign anywhere yet and do we think we still are in the running?

  3. The light switched on for this guy the last 25 or so games at Rockford and they didn’t want to give up on him. I suspect he’s got one more year to show he can be a bottom pair guy – we’ll see what happens.

  4. Bill,

Russo can’t sign anywhere until 8/15 so there’s still some waiting to do.

He is a right hand shot which they now need in the pipeline and I’m certain they’re aware of him.

  5. 8/15 on Russo as Hoff said. Interesting the Isles elected not to sign him and then ship Reinhart off to Edmonton. Regardless, I don’t think Russo is NHL ready.

  6. I recall seeing Svedberg in the scrum of players celebrating on the ice moments after the they won the Cup and the words “you rang?” pops to mind. :)

I guess you give a 6’8″ guy a little extra time to see if he develops. Hopefully he’s not another Simon Danis-Pepin from a few years ago – basically just a tall guy.
