Brandon Saad, Saginaw Spirit Eliminated From OHL Playoffs

On Saturday night, the London Knights ended the postseason for the Saginaw Spirit and Blackhawks prospect Brandon Saad.

Saad, a second round pick by Chicago in the 2011 NHL Draft, finished his personal postseason with eight goals and nine assists in 12 playoff games. He added 76 points (34 goals, 42 assists) in just 44 regular season games. Saad was named the OHL’s Most Sportsmanlike Player earlier in the week.

The loss means Saad is now available to join the Chicago Blackhawks before Game Three of their first round playoff series against the Phoenix Coyotes, which will be played at the United Center on Tuesday evening.
