Brandon Saad Signs with Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks agreed to terms on Tuesday afternoon with 2011 second round draft pick Brandon Saad.

UPDATE: His NHL cap number for the deal is reportedly $795k.

Saad will begin the season skating with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp on the Blackhawks top line. The 18-year-old Pittsburgh area native will at least skate the beginning o the year with the Hawks, and coach Joel Quenneville left the door open to a longer stay if he earns it when Viktor Stalberg returns.

Also moving on Tuesday, Jeremy Morin was assigned to Rockford and Stalberg was placed on IR.
