Early Thursday morning in the US, Canada lost a heart-breaking game to Slovakia and their hopes for a gold medal at the 2012 World Championships ended.
Duncan Keith finished the tournament with 11 points (one goal, 10 assists) and was plus-seven while averaging 22:28 per game on the ice. Patrick Sharp‘s tournament ended with eight points (one goal, seven assists) and a plus-two rating while averaging 17:02 per game.
Three more Blackhawks – Marcus Kruger, Niklas Hjalmarsson and Viktor Stalberg – will compete later Thursday when Sweden takes on Michael Frolik and the Czech team in their quarterfinal game.
