Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy left Tuesday night’s game early with a groin injury that will reportedly cause him to miss “a couple weeks.”
This is the final seconds of Connor Murphy's last shift tonight. He may have tweaked something at the end of the shift. Jeremy Colliton said it was a lower-body injury, possibly a groin injury. Murphy is expected to miss a few weeks. pic.twitter.com/yIuA8UcUkd

This could be a huge loss for the Hawks. Murphy has emerged as a top-pair defenseman early this season and Duncan Keith has talked about his leadership. He was averaging 20:11 per game with 17 hits and seven blocked shots. He leads Chicago defensemen averaging 2:33 per game on penalty kill duty.
