  1. Skilled, smart, fit, way above average skater with just enough crazy factor that others are wary he might snap–the best d-man in the history of the Blackhawks? I wouldn’t argue.

  2. Pierre Pilote
    3 time Norris winner, 3 time runner-up
1st or 2nd team all NHL for 8 straight years.
Also, his crew cut was outstanding!

No slight to Duncs though. He’s great

  3. Forsling and Abbott sent down. Cap move? I thought I remember that there was a date where if Forsling was still with the Hawks he didn’t have to go back to Sweden. Or perhaps its so late in the year Linkoping agreed not to claim him and they liked the transfer money.

  4. Pilote was great, as were Chelios and Doug Wilson. Some other great Hawks defenders? Bill White , Pat Stapleton and Bob Murray.

But Keith is the best. I watched them all and was a fan of each. Keith’s skating ability is unmatched. He isn’t a shut down defender like Bill White or Nik J., but he is the best that has ever donned a Hawk’s uniform. He makes the incredible appear simple.

  5. Nobody has ever been better in a Hawk uniform at calmly making the short precision pass under pressure in his own end. He never seems to get rattled. Great skater and quick stick as others have mentioned. I hope Abbott going down doesn’t mean useless Tootoo back in the lineup.
