Eric Daze Gets “One More Shift”

On Wednesday the Blackhawks announced that forward Eric Daze will be honored with “One More Shift” at the United Center before the Blackhawks host the Detroit Red Wings at 11:30 AM CT.

Daze was originally a fourth round (90th overall) pick by Chicago in the 1993 NHL Draft. He made the All-Rookie team in 1996 and was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2002 NHL All-Star Game, his only All-Star Game appearance. Daze had four seasons with at least 30 goals scored.

  1. Great goal scorer (fabulous release). Solid defensively. Got knocked (by some — not me) for not being more physical but that just wasn’t his game (and he certainly wasn’t soft). Overall he was an excellent player and it was a real shame his career got cut short. Hope he gets a great reception. Well deserved.

  2. One of the few bright spots during the Hawks dark ages, is that Steve Sullivan in the background?

  3. I would like to see these announced sooner for DieHard fans of some of these players, if I were Email Spammer President of Public Relations I would be all over this but as Recliner Coach and keyboard GM I can only do so much.

Fun fact “public relations” was a term created to replace the word “propoganda” in the 30s. Remember that anytime you hear about a company or government department called “public relations”.
