Clendening finished two years at Boston University with fantastic sophomore campaign (33 points in 38 games). He signed his entry-level deal with the Hawks this summer and will work with NHL veteran Nick Leddy and returning IceHogs defenseman Shawn Lalonde as a puck-mover on the blue line in Rockford.
The organization is really high on Clendening, and he is considered by many a potential top-four defenseman at the NHL level.
