Prospect Profile: Kyle Beach

Kyle Beach – Left Wing

DOB: 01/13/1990    Ht: 6’3     Wt: 210

Drafted: 1st round (11th overall) in 2008 – Everett Silvertips

Beach opened eyes in Spokane of the WHL 2009-10 with 52 goals, 34 assists and 186 penalty minutes in 68 regular season games, followed by seven goals in seven postseason games. However, he struggled to transition to the professional game in his first full season in the AHL, as he scored only 16 goals with just 20 assists with 163 penalty minutes in 71 regular season games. Later in the year, he did become more comfortable in the IceHogs system, though.

Unfortunately for Beach, his 2011-12 season was limited to 19 games because of a shoulder injury suffered in late October. He did scored five goals and added five assists in those 19 games, but more quality talent being added to the system with each draft makes the 2012-13 season a make-or-break season for Beach with the Blackhawks organization.
