Drafted: 2nd round (35th overall) in 2010 – Brynas Jr (Sweden)
Rensfeldt is a tall, slender forward who handles physical play around the net fairly well and has excellent vision on the ice. However, he didn’t have an overwhelming season on paper last year – seven points in just 11 games – due in large part to a personality conflict with the coaches at Brynas. He has the skills to be a top-six forward in the NHL, but needs to prove his ability on the ice against North American competition.
I’ll be watching him at the WJC this year, and hoping he does well, but not well enough to beat Canada! (;
