Danault had an impressive season in juniors as a 17-year-old, scoring 23 goals and adding 44 assists in just 64 regular season contests. He then added 15 points (five goals, ten assists) in nine postseason games as well.
At the Hawks’ prospect camp, he showed good hands both in traffic and around the net, and a tenacity to get the puck on net as well. It might be a few years before he’s physically ready for the NHL, but he showed an ability to score with older, bigger players that should serve him well as he continues to progress.
