Sources have confirmed to CommittedIndians that the Blackhawks will recall forward Jeremy Morin on Friday.
Morin, 19, has missed a couple games because of a lower body injury this season but has still posted three goals and one assist in eight games with Rockford.
The call-up likely indicates that center Dave Bolland may miss more time. When Marian Hossa went down “for a couple weeks,” the Blackhawks did not place him on IR; Bolland went on IR fairly quickly after being removed from the lineup.
Last week coach Joel Quenneville indicated that he didn’t think Morin was ready, but may have been referring to the health of his legs after the injury. The Blackhawks have also been reluctant to bring Morin to Chicago if he was going to play 10-12 minutes per game, meaning this call-up is likely an indication that there could be major line adjustments coming (again) and that Morin is set to get top-six minutes.
