According to the Chicago Blackhawks via Twitter Wednesday morning, Jordan Hendry will be active for the first time Wednesday night against Vancouver. Brent Sopel will be a healthy scratch.
Sopel took part in the morning skate and there aren’t any concerns. Coach Joel Quenneville simply wants to get Hendry game action. Sopel is averaging just over 12 minutes per game on the young season, and is -4 on the year with zero points. He is the only player actively on the Blackhawks roster that has not scored a point in the young season.
Hendry appeared in nine games for the Blackhawks last year and failed to score a point. He ended the season -1 and averaged just over 10 minutes per contest.
