NBA Lockout Continues, NHL To Benefit

On Monday afternoon, NBA Players Association rejected the owners’ proposed CBA and will seek to decertify, according to executive director Billy Hunter. The union also plans to pursue an antitrust lawsuit against the NBA.

This puts the 2011-12 NBA season in serious jeopardy (read: not happening). In Chicago, this could be the best thing to happen to the Blackhawks since the Barker-Leddy trade; the ice at the United Center should (emphasize: should) be better all year with no basketball games.

Here and I thought the NBA ended after the 1998 season. Maybe that was just in Chicago. It will be nice to have a better ice surface all year.
