NHL Postpones Draft, Combine and Awards

The NHL announced additional schedule impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday afternoon.

In the release from the NHL, the league announced the postponements of three signature events on the league calendar:

  • the 2020 NHL Scouting Combine, which was scheduled for June 1-6 in Buffalo,
  • the 2020 NHL Draft, which was scheduled for June 26-27 in Montreal, and
  • the 2020 NHL Awards, which were scheduled for June 18 in Las Vegas.

The league is still working on a location, timing and format of the 2020 NHL Draft (and Draft Lottery). Those changes will be announced by the league when details are finalized.

  1. That is a beautiful photo. When the family was young, handsome and had it going. Noticeably, Bowman (thankfully) is not in the photo. Q was the proud father admiring his top flight children and the hardware.

    Memories…..

  2. They need to cancel the whole season. Every other sport did. A 4 mth gap in play is like the 4 mth gap between every seaosn during the summer. Your going to have a bunch of rusty teams playing, which will be stupid.

And then they would try to fix that and have a compressed season next yr to make up for it, in which they already do not know how to make, proper, sch spaced out correctly.

They should just tell every team, like they tell the school kids, you have to repeat the grade over again since your school yr was cancelled.

  3. Actually if they had to have a compressed sch, they cant F up because every team would have to play a similiar sch with games more often throughout the 82 games.
