Nikolai Khabibulin To Start Friday

Nikolai Khabibulin will reportedly make his 2013-14 Blackhawks debut on Friday night against the New York Islanders.

Khabibulin last started for the Blackhawks during the 2009 Western Conference Final series. Last year with Edmonton, he posted a 4-6-1 record with a .923 save percentage and one shutout.

Good time for Habby to get first start with the Hawks….

    I am a little concerned about tonite/Bulin-Wall…
Isles can put up some crooked #’s… alot of fire power/speed in line-up.
    could be high scoring game-

But trying to read Q’s mind… I’m guessing he is thinking better to get Crow a low scoring GAA vs. Sabres/confidence builder… than letting up 4-5 vs. Isles…

  3. EspoForever says:

Yeah the Isles are a lot better team than people realize theses days. Hope Habby’s ready.

I see a tough game ahead. Hopefully Nabokov’s history vs Hawks continues. He’s around 4 gpg lately. If ‘bulin can come within 1 gpg avg. to what Razor did last year we will be very fortunate. Probly too much to ask of him at this stage. We’ll see.

  5. Tab Bamford says:

Note: Nabokov isn’t starting for the Isles tonight
