Patrick Kane Reaches Major Milestone

With an assist and a goal on Thursday night in Nashville, Patrick Kane reached 700 career regular season points.

Since he broke into the NHL at the beginning of the 2007-08 season, only four players in the NHL have more points than Chicago’s #88.

1. Alex Ovechkin, WSH – 710 GP, 443 G, 351 A, 794 PTS
2. Sidney Crosby, PIT – 578 GP, 289 G, 469 A, 758 PTS
3. Evgeni Malkin, PIT – 603 GP, 277 G, 439 A, 716 PTS
4. Joe Thornton, SJS – 730 GP, 168 G, 537 A, 705 PTS
5. Patrick Kane, CHI696 GP, 262 G, 438 A, 700 PTS

Kane is also only the sixth player in the history of the Chicago Blackhawks franchise to reach 700 points while wearing the Indian head.

1. Stan Mikita – 1,467
2. Bobby Hull – 1,153
3. Denis Savard – 1,096
4. Steve Larmer – 923
5. Doug Wilson – 779

  1. Entertaining game. Toews appeared to be fully engaged which bodes well going forward.
Panik needs more minutes. He creates space for himself and scoring chances.
Hinostroza has NHL speed and skill. He really is noticeable shift to shift.

Kempny had an excellent game. Quick, good passes, a couple of nice breakups in the defensive zone, blocked a few shots. To my eye, he is a better option right now than Forsling.

TVR played okay I suppose. “Active stick” defensively but yikes how many passes in the offensive zone is he going to mishandle ? They are just rush killers. What’s the sense in joining the rush if you cannot catch an NHL level pass ?

  2. A very rare talent, Chicago very lucky to have him. Everyone should enjoy watching his game while we still have him, you never know what tomorrow brings.
