Patrick Sharp Named 2011 NHL All Star Game MVP

Patrick Sharp of the Blackhawks has been named the Most Valuable Player of the 2011 NHL All Star Game!

Sharp finished the game with one goal and two assists, and was plus-two. He is the first Blackhawks player to be an All Star Game MVP since Eric Daze. More amazing, Sharp wasn’t even on the ballot for this year’s game.

In the game, the other three Blackhawks also made an impact on the scoresheet.

Jonathan Toews also had one goal and two assists, while Duncan Keith and Patrick Kane had one assist each.

Kane misses his flight and Sharp is the MVP …that pretty much sums up the season

Sharp played really well but I think some of the guys with two goals – Kopitar, Letang, Briere played better overall

How ’bout Loui Ericksson with 2 goals (GWG) and 2 assists?

Or maybe one of the defensemen, Lidstrom was a plus 7, while Shea Weber had 4 assists and was a plus 6.

How was Sharp even part of the discussion?
