The Blackhawks have been dealt their first blow of the new season.
“Patrick Sharp underwent an emergency surgical appendectomy this evening after experiencing some abnormal abdominal discomfort. The surgery was successful and I anticipate a full recovery in approximately three to four weeks.”
The projected recovery time is the full extent of training camp.

Agree with Alex…hopefully the depth of the organization supports Sharpie’s absence until he can return. Let’s hope that he’s rounding into shape and up to full speed by Thanksgiving at the latest.
