Report: Blackhawks Bring Back Jamal Mayers

RDS reported early on Friday evening that the Blackhawks have agreed to terms on a one-year, $600k deal with veteran forward Jamal Mayers.

Mayers had six goals and nine assists in 81 regular season games in 2011-12. He ranked third on the Blackhawks with 102 hits, and won 56.1 percent of his regular season faceoffs.

    Nice, Mayers deserves a spot on this roster and Im glad the Hawks were smart enough to bring him back, and cheap to boot. He’s the anchor of the bottom six in my belief and deserves every minute he plays

    Good 4th line signing; he brings depth, some size and a degree of physicality. Loved him last year but perplexed that Q sat him in playoffs.
