A report from The Oregonian indicates goaltender Mac Carruth is close to signing a pro deal with the Blackhawks.
Carruth, 20, was 42-17-2 this season with a .904 save percentage and two shutouts for the Portland Winterhawks (WHL). Portland’s season ended in the WHL Finals with a Game 7 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings. Carruth is Portland’s franchise leader in career playoff appearances (54) and playoff wins (33) by a goalie.
Chicago drafted Carruth in the seventh round (191st overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft.
