Reports on Sunday afternoon are that the Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms on an entry-level contract with their other 2011 first round pick, Mark McNeill. McNeill, who will turn 19 on Feb. 22, was the 18th overall selection this summer.
In 37 games with Prince Albert of the WHL this year, McNeill has 39 points (18 goals, 21 assists) and 18 penalty minutes. The Blackhawks have also reportedly agreed to terms with their other first round pick from this summer, Phillip Danault.
According to CapGeek.com, McNeill’s deal has a $1.175M NHL cap hit for three years, while Danault’s deal has a $1.025M NHL cap hit. Including Brandon Saad, the Hawks have now signed three of their top four picks from the 2011 Draft.
