Stan Bowman Named Co-Manager Of Team North America For 2016 World Cup Of Hockey

On Wednesday, the NHLPA and NHL announced that Stan Bowman and Peter Chiarelli will serve as co-managers for “Team North America” for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Team North America will be made up of the top players who are 23 or under as of Oct. 1, 2016 from Canada and the United States. In the roster rules for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, players who meet these criteria will be available for selection exclusively by Team North America, and not the rosters of their respective countries. Chiarelli and Bowman will select the players, coaches and support staff.

Chiarelli is currently the President of Hockey Operations and General Manager of the Edmonton Oilers. He built two Eastern Conference Champions in Boston, winning one Stanley Cup and losing to the Hawks in the 2013 Final.

  1. This just in Stan Bowman is a good talent evaluater, shocker! Congrats to Stan

Watch out for Edm that teams about to turn some heads very soon. Especially if they have players in Nurse and Klefbom. McDavid is about to start tearing things up.
