Vinnie Hinostroza Movin’ On Up

Ahead of the first game of the Blackhawks final Circus Trip, it appears Vinnie Hinostroza will get an extended look on the top line with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

Here are the lines from the morning skate on Tuesday:

Hinostroza-Toews-Kane
Panarin-Anisimov-Hossa
Desjardins-Kruger-Panik
Hartman-Schmaltz/Rasmussmen-Tootoo

Hinostroza was on the ice with Toews for 9:34 and with Kane for 8:57 against Montreal, skating a personal season-high 13:21 with a season-high three shots on net in the Hawks’ Sunday night win. He has not recorded a point in eight appearances this season, but the 22-year-old has six blocked shots and six takeaways.

Nick Schmaltz was reportedly hurt during the morning skate; Jordin Tootoo would be in line to take his place if the rookie forward can’t go in Winnipeg.

Corey Crawford and Connor Hellebuyck will be the starting goaltenders.

When Tyler Motte returns, coach Joel Quenneville will have another talented rookie available to consider on the top line. The Blackhawks have points in 11 straight games.

  1. Hope schmaltz not serious thought hinostroza would get a look maybe he can compliment 19 and 88 and stick

  2. A little disappointed that Panik is on the third line. I know he is originally a right wing, but he seemed to have been doing more than OK at left wing. Also he seems to be one of the few that is willing to do the dirty work of screening the goalie.

  3. All the rookies played well against Montreal. I liked Hartman on the top line. These lines will last 2 shifts before they’re thrown in a blender.

Hartman has 2pims on the year. Shocking. That was a major issue in Rockford.
