Blackhawks Acquire Andreas Martinsen
On Wednesday the Blackhawks traded forward Kyle Baun to Montreal for forward Andreas Martinsen.
Martinsen, 27, was never drafted. He made his NHL debut with Colorado during the 2015-16 season, appearing in 55 games. He scored seven goals with 11 assists over 110 regular season games for the Avs before he was traded to Montreal for Sven Andrighetto at the deadline last year. He failed to produce a point in nine appearances with the Habs.
Martinsen is listed at 6-3 and 229 pounds and has one year remaining on his current contract with a $675k cap hit.
Baun, 25, signed with the Blackhawks as a college free agent in March of 2015. He appeared in five games for the Blackhawks during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, but spent all of last season in Rockford. He has a $625k cap hit for the 2017-18 season.
Baun was likely caught hanging out with the long-departed dynamic duo — ex-phenoms Pirri & Morin — and thus left Q in a tizzy.
Let’s hope Martinsen is not a fresh and equally incompetent version of Bollig, Mashinter etc. We know Bowman has a history with these types, The Paniks of the world dont grow on trees.
Nothing for Nothing deal. One guy is 2 years older and $50k more expensive. Baun had run his course here.
Is he making the big league roster?
No
Boring. Now let’s beat Pittsburgh tomorrow.
4th like Ahl deal.
Martinsen will be living in Rockford for a while.
Sounds like he needs to work on not getting penalties. 4th line at bestbecause he is limited offensively.
True! Another boring trade by our GEEK accountant GM playing monopoly. Well one less college graduate smoke screen player on the roster.
I love TOTTI’s commitment to nonsense. Top shelf
Watched Jets-Leafs-
in the first period Winnipeg totally outplayed Toronto-in every aspect possible, other than the score (but down 3-0)
It’s only one game but there will be some Jet fans wondering if Mason is the answer.
Totti….i dont know about this trade but i remember that a few years ago i was thinking the same thing about the Morin -Panik trade and ….i was completely wrong and now Panik is a big part of the Hawks ….and remember also the trade many years ago for Sharp and i dont remember his name . I did like Baun but not sure the Hawks beleive in him …let see what hapend with the big Guy
Watched some Blues/Pitt and Phi/SJ…
Really liked Thompson from Blues and Labanc (5th or 6th round pick) for Sharks…
That Labanc kid is a beast– great find for Sharks
Totti, maybe Bowman is an opera fan, and thought this guy was the singer Bocelli.
We got the wrong Banc. Should have gotten La instead of Le.
