Blackhawks Activate Wyatt Kalynuk Off LTIR
Just before the Blackhawks took the ice for warm-ups before facing the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night, the club activated defenseman Wyatt Kalynuk off LTIR.
He will not play against the Pens but is active, which is a great sign. Kalynuk was a pleasant surprise as a rookie last season and should push Erik Gustafsson out of the lineup.
Hope he can play next game the kid must be very happy to join the Hawks .
Hawks will be better with him in the lineup I think .
Looking forward to seeing him on 2nd pp soon.
Gus is playing just fine, why push him out ? Take McCabe out, he is a waste of salary and makes constant mistakes.
@BL: spot on re McCabe. He is a yard sale. McCabe, TJ, and MAF combined salaries for the rest of their contracts is $38 million all of which is pretty much wasted. Stan is gone but his legacy of incompetence lives on.
On the other hand, Kalynuk returning is something to look forward to.
I’m looking forward to getting Kalynuk back in the lineup. He will push Gustafsson and de Haan. As for McCabe? He’s less than one year from total knee reconstruction. He’s not 100%. I’m surprised he’s doing well at all. So, I will give him slack. A few years ago, there was a cry to get rid of Murphy. Not so much anymore. What a great place to be, defensively. Caleb Jones will also return, eventually. I like seeing Stillman with S. Jones. This puts the GM in a strong position to deal with contenders that may need defensive help. The Rockford pipeline will have more time to develop. Hopefully without any injuries to the Blackhawks or at Rockford. This is a really strong situation to be in. Guys can sit out a game to rest any aches.
Offensively, I’m hoping Borgstrom comes back soon. Strome had a great game. So…was Strome, like the rest of the team, mentally spent with Colliton? If Strome’s game gets stronger, under King, EVEN BETTER!!!
Lastly, I don’t see these guys getting to the playoffs. If they do, they won’t go far. But, if this GM is as savvy as I am reading, he’ll make this team stronger with timely trades. The one thing that Bowman never really had was a solid vision of what he wanted this team to be. He was never proactive. Rather, Bowman was reactive. He was never good enough to be the GM. Colliton was never good enough to be the HC. Let’s hope that King really grabs this opportunity and is the right HC with the right GM. The team, organization, and fans will only benefit. GOOD TIMES!!!
re: Kalynuk – when he’s back, he’ll push Gustafsson out of the lineup. Hopefully for good. When Caleb Jones gets back we’ll see how they handle all the bodies. I would like to see
McCabe-S. Jones
C. Jones-Murphy
Stillman-de Haan
