Blackhawks Bring Jeremy Morin to Chicago

The Blackhawks announced on Friday afternoon that forward Jeremy Morin has been recalled from Rockford. Morin has eight points (four goals, four assists) in eight games this season with the IceHogs.

The recall of Morin was one of three transactions announced by the Hawks on Friday. The team also placed defenseman Mike Kostka on IR (retroactive to Oct. 22) and agreed to terms on a one-year deal with forward Brad Mills, and recalled him as well.

Morin should of made the Hawks out of TC…Q has played mind games with the young Hawks thus far this season, and he really doesn’t need to…there good kids who try hard every shift…If he will just leave well enough alone, the Hawks will be fine…if Morin gets a legitimate shot, he will stick and contribute regularly…and Mike and others make a good point about Morin, he’s not a 4th line player…they should slot him on the 3rd line with Shaw and Bickell and let them develop a rapport…this is a line I was looking forward to in the offseason…

Mills is a good kid, but has had a slow start to Rockford’s season…

Brad, you may be right about the mind games…..but I am sure the brass, including Q, are being positive. This team was built around young energy play. I am hoping the Hawks stick with that philosophy. Where does Mills fit?

    Saad / Toews / Kane
Sharp / Kruger or Pirri / Hossa
Bicks / Shaw / Morin (he would be off wing)
Bollig / Pirri or Kruger / Smith
This as a fourth line would have to understand its role, grind out 10 – 12 defensively responsible minutes. I think, at this point, Krugers speed is more valuable to the 2cd line than Pirri’s shot….I think. But I don’t mind if Q does a little shifting of 2C here. This conversation really exposes the 2C issue. If the Hawks future 2C is in Rockford, I do not mind waiting 2 – 3 months. Sharp and Hoss have their own jobs to do.

Agree Mike, as long as someone not named Handzus is playing the 2nd line centre spot…Mills is a C/W…he had a strong finish in Rockford last season, but hasn’t started well this year…he is strong for his size and is a 2 way player…

IMO- Q sees the lack of chemistry/speed in w/ most lines he has tried to assemble…
best looking line this year was 3rd period- 10/19/81… but left a terrible blend on 2nd line!

20/65/16 was ok- for small sample… once again leaving big holes in other lines!

Mills in pre-season looked OK- was in the right place most of time… Yale=should be good IQ… speed=average. But probably faster than 26! I thought Froese played pretty smart in Pre-seas, and like Mills, was responsible and actually faster. I would have liked to see Froese get a chance before Mills- BUT both are just band-aids until the Real prospects are ready…

I still would take Nordstrom on 2nd C or 3rd line over Mills…

Either way this Hawks team is far from where they need to be…

Have played mostly at home vs. the INFERIOR Eastern Conf.!!!

wouldn’t mind seeing any combo of –

    20/29/65/37/11 on that 3rd line!

And why 11/10/81 isn’t an option??? or 11/19/81???

11 will score and should play PP- but I don’t know how he will grade in rest of play.
