Blackhawks-Bruins: Original Six Matchup of Champions

On Saturday, the last two Stanley Cup champions will do battle on the United Center ice.

What makes the game more special is the rare opportunity to see two Original Six franchises renew their historic rivalry.

Corey Crawford will start in net for the Hawks (2-1-0), who have scored nine goals in their first two home games this season.

On the other end of the ice, the Bruins have started their title defense 1-3-0, and have scored only seven goals in their four games. However, defense has been key for Boston, who have only allowed seven goals.

For Chicago, coach Joel Quenneville indicated that Viktor Stalberg is possible for the game, but Ben Smith will likely still be out. The Bruins will be without center David Krejci.

Does anyone REALLY like the D Pairings? I’m not big on the pairing of Keith/Leddy. I would like a bigger D man with each of them. Pair Keith back with Seabrook. This will allow Keith to let loose and play his game rather than hold back to watch out for mistakes from Leddy. Either put Leddy on the second pair with Hammer or on the third pair with O’Donnel and pair Montador with Hammer. I feel like they paid Montador second pair money, and he and Hammer will be a tough pair. Of course Lepisto will work into the mix on some third pair. Thoughts?
