Nick Mattson has been putting up the points recently at North Dakota. A senior and he hasn’t done a whole lot during his college career but Stan Bowman was very complimentary of him at prospect camp last summer – said he really has developed.

It’ll be interesting if they sign him and also any college free agents like they did with Carey and TVR.

Most important near term sign out of that group is Paliotta and I think they’re determined to get him done.

After a slow start, Hinostroza has picked it up and now leads Notre Dame in scoring. I was surprised he didn’t make the American WJC team because he is bigger and as dynamic, if not more, than Anthony Louis who did make the team.

Is Hayden injured again? He wasn’t listed in the boxscore from Yale’s last game. Still think is he works on his skating he may end up with the Hawks in a few years because he has the soze and he’s got a little nasty in him.

Paliotta is probably the closest to a finished product, with good size and offensive game. Let’s hope he doesn’t pull a K.Hayes. Hopefully he sees the Hawks have d-man openings next season and he has the confidence to sign with the Hawks and compete for the opportunity.

Really wish I did a better job of editing before I hit enter – or there was an edit function. Fingers can’t keep up with thoughts and it results in “soze” instead of “size” and “is” instead of “if”, etc.

Lot’s of assists here… But where are the shooters/snipers- which are badly needed considering the 2 of the 3 best snipers on Hawks are past there prime…

Me Hopes the Hawks are looking for a pure sniper or two to compliment all of the Pass 1st prospects here…

    Draft-
I would like to see a Paul Bittner– lot’s of size, and supposed to have a hard shot…

re: Hofmeister wondering about Mattson – don’t see it. Not on an NHL contract at least; see Holl last year. Too many kids coming (Paliotta specifically this spring) and too many defensemen already in the organization. Nice player, but not likely to get an NHL contract.
