Blackhawks College Prospect Updates
When The Hockey News put out their list of 75 college prospects to watch earlier in October, the Blackhawks were well represented. On the list were Dylan Sikura (10), Evan Barratt (45), Parker Foo (47), Ian Mitchell (54), Beau Starrett (60), Jake Ryczek (67) and Chad Krys (70). That’s seven of the 75 having been drafted by Stan Bowman – not bad.
Here’s how the complete list of Hawks prospects are performing thus far in the college game.

Apart from Sicura, not much there!!!Beau Starrett, Evan Barratt, Parker Foo????
But in Rockford, Vinny has 10 points in 8 games, Jurco 8 points in 8 games with nice OT winner the other night!!! And Iaopelli doing well with that NHL shot and speed!!!
Not sure what Vinny and Jurco, NHL experienced to get a chance to play with HAWKS. Send Debrincat to AHL and sit Wingels!!!
Ian Mitchell is playing a ton of minutes as a freshman on the National Champions.
I’ve watched him twice now. Great wheels, super puck carrier who is not phased by being the youngest and generally smallest guy out there. He has a chance to be really really good.
Krys needs to score. Once he does his game will truly take off for Boston U. He’s out there a lot and he’s a legit top 4,on an excellent team, but he’s not a standout or superior.
Gilbert seems to have stagnated. He was a good offensive defenseman his freshman year, had a great sophomore season, staying at home and playing against the other team’s top line every weekend but this year he really has not been noticeable nor did he really have a standout prospects camp.
By comparison, this time last year, Luc Snuggerud was turning into the Duncan Keith of Omaha, playing in all situations and controlling the flow of the play a lot.
It’s early but so far of these 3, Mitchell is by far the most impressive
Craig it’s good to hear Mitchell can skate-
I saw Gilbert on TV and no one has their head down when he’s on the ice-not sure about his skating however.
