Here we go… Time to refresh twitter every 10 seconds.

Please let these trades happen soon so the team and we as fans can concentrate on who is actually going to be playing this year. Glad Dahlback has returned and this means something.

It might just mean TVR is going to Rockford though

Something is obviously in the works. It appears Q absolutely loves TVR, Cumiskey is on the bubble. But what’s up with Rundblad. Stan touted him in the off-season as being a guy who will get the chance to prove he’s an NHLer, but he’s played like one pre-season game, there has been very little said about him by the beat writers. I wonder if he winds up on waivers ?

Purely conjecture on my part, but I read the tea leaves this way. Dahlbeck being recalled means Oduya is getting traded. Dahlbeck was paired with Hjalmarsson in one of the preseason games and I thought they meshed pretty well together. Oduya’s cap hit is somewhere north of $3M so that takes care of the cap problem in one move. I think the Hawks start the season with 8 d-men (2-4-7-8-32) with Rundblad, Dahlbeck, TvR and Comiskey fighting for the 3 other spots. Essentially Dahlbeck and TvR competing for partner with Hjalmarsson and Rundblad and Comiskey competing for the 6/7 d-man to spell Rozsival and partner with Leddy.

So I wonder why Johns is not listed on that Rockford roster? Strange.

I haven’t seen enough out of TVR to see why he is here over Johns and Clendening. In fact it blows my mind.

Looking at teams that have cap space (capgeek.com) and need defensive help.. (I am sure the hawks aren’t wanting to “help out” teams in the western conference) so…

    Ottawa $14m; NYI $10m; Winnipeg (nearly) $8m; Florida $6m; Carolina $5m
    Buffalo is rebuilding so…

Could all be teams SB is talking to about moving Oduya, Leddy and/or (doubtful) Rozy… I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Versteeg moved as well…

My gut tells me Oduya is who SB is most interested in moving (due to his cap hit) and as ER mentions, Hammer and Dahlbeck had been paired up and seemed to play well together…

Hope that good news is coming soon!

As I suggested all off season, Dahlbeck is the one prospect DMan that makes the most sense. He’s had enough experience with the pro game and he dramatically improved his offensive game last year…he’s ready! Dahlbeck is essentially the same size as Hammer, but with more toughness and more offensive potential. We needed to get bigger, younger and tougher on Defence and Dahlbeck is step #1…Stephen Johns and Adam Clendening are steps 2 and 3…he’s the safest play right now…

A 3rd line of Shaw centring Bicks and Versteeg is looking great, lots of puck possession and shots on goal. A 4th line of Kruger with Smith and Morin is fantastic…lots of potential…we have no need and no room for goons who can’t skate…

Defensive pairings of Seabrook-Keith, Hammer-Dahlbeck and Leddy-Runblad/Cumiskey (for now) are more than fine. By 30-40 games in Clendening and Johns will be given a shot to replace those two…

Makes me wonder if someone bit on the package deal of Leddy and Steeger…

    Why they gotta tease us?!

Excellent work Tab, now its just a matter of watching and waiting.

I really think Leddy is too young to give up on right now. Oduya and Versteeg wouldn’t make me lose sleep.

Sr Brad you’re just a hockey guru.. the Einstein of the modern nhl.. all hail sr brad

I’m assuming that roster is for their preseason game. Danault isn’t on it either. I’m sure there are other omissions. Icehogs have 34 players in camp so some won’t play.

Sr Brad– I am buying – except for the 3rd D pair 8 w/ 5 or 26 – would make for one of the weakest (physical D pairings in the NHL) … they would never win a puck battle!!!

Now throw in TvR or Johns and your OK

Rufus- I am a Big Johns Fan (in fact I suggested a possible dumping of 7… cuz Johns is younger, cheaper version). I have been watching both TvR and Johns as close as possible during games… TvR is calm, patient, and makes correct reads… Johns has been good… But I have caught him making a couple of bad reads, and TO’s… I think TvR gave it away once, but quickly smothered his man and won the puck back… TvR has graded way better than all of the ” D Prospects” … at least in my eyes (of course, I can only see what is on the screen)…

More Puzzling- RasMOOSEn… has graded out very well… and that POS Mashitter is still here???? Q has stated- TvR, MOOSE, and Darling as being GREAT standouts in camp… yet we still have Shitter!!!!

Leblanc in Rockford? I haven’t seen much to get excited? Please tell me he’s a minor pro depth player while needed. Those that live in the area, see the Hogs- what do you think?

So if the hawks are truly “going for it”, which they are ! The hockey news and sports illustrated are already predicting the Hawks will win the Cup, why would Stan trade Johnny oduya ? And experiment with a partner for Nik H ?

I cannot see that happening. The hawks are all in so to speak, this season. I realize there is a cap situation at hand but there is absolutely no way a cup contender/favorite messes with their top 4.

Out of the guys who are left….don’t some have to clear waivers before sending them to Rockford?? Cumiskey comes to mind. Seems like he would never make it to Rockford.
