Hmmm … I wonder what line combos Q will make from that list. Obvious Toews and Anisimov will center lines 1 & 2. Panik is probably with Toews. Kero will play center although will it be line 3 or 4? Who will be the other center – Dauphin, Kampf, maybe Hinostroza? Where will DeBrincat play – with Anisimov or Toews?

I think it’s telling that Rutta joins Keith and Seabrook on the no-play list. If I were asked to judge which d-man has played best other than Keith and Seabrook – it would be Rutta.

I guess it doesn’t matter how the line combos shake out – it’s Hawk hockey on TV so I’m good with whatever Q wants to do in the game.

Good observation ER about who is not dressing.

Seems like a big opportunity for DeBrincat to show he can help a line without the benefit of Kane being out there too. Which means I would expect him to struggle a little more. He seems like a guy that needs someone to be able to control the puck and provide puck possession in the offensive zone so he can use his instincts to get open, but if he shows he can help a line without that kind of player, that would be a big step in the right direction for him.

It’s not out of the realm of possibility that Hino makes this team and earns regular playing time with his wheels.

First four defense could possibly be the 2nd and 3rd pairings to start season, although Rutta may play his way in ahead of Forsling but leftshot vs right may come into play. One of the other 3 could be the 7th dmen.

    Interesting

I could see Q toying with AA at LW… line 1 or 2 or 3 this season… if he likes
Kampf as much as I do– so far…

Kampf- could slot in at 3rd C
Kampf has done pretty well at Face-offs so far- in Pre-season
Kampf- has way more play making skills compared to Kruger/ or Moose

All comes back to few things… Q/Office- gonna give the “signed/contracts” (wingels and Bouma TooToo) 1st crack to Lose the job??? Or go with younger/faster Prospects… who so far deserve it more– based on small sample of Pre-season hockey!!!

Wall don’t rule the possibility that AA ends up a winger on 2nd line if Kampf impresses enough. Would also help take pressure off Schmaltz on faceoffs.

How much longer should I be waiting on Jurco to show me something? Everytime he’s in the lineup I’m like ok do something,….and nothing!

I want Hayden on this team, I like what he brings! Another Spin for Forsberg to lockup the back up spot.

Thank god this games on so I dont have to consider putting the Bears on my Television. Fucking Bears!

Ian- I had similar thoughts- AA 2nd LW

    Could even see-

Cat/19/14– Cat- playing with 2 bigger guys- winning boards and Cat can be Kane-lite from LW

AA/8/88 – AA can help D side and win some draws

Saad/Kampf/ Hayden or Hino or Flipper— go with 40- ya have a banger line
Go with Flipper- you have an excellent D/checking line- with lot’s of speed to quick counter-attack… if you insert Hino on RW… Saad/Hino on Wings… might be the fastest Line combo on team!!!

or 20/19/14 and 10/64/??? – still quick- but probably not as good D/checking wise w/ 10 instead of 20

Lastly-SB- still has Cap $$ (assuming Hoss is LTIR) to add somewhere/sometime

SSHM– I totally 2nd the amazing Jurco!!!! I will say he tries hard… and goes to the right places… Like a weaker version of Kruger… 16 could at least Muck and play soccer on the boards for Long periods of time… Jurco- I ain’t seeing it

Once again I will say Anisimov and Sharp should be interchangeable. 3c or 2Lw with a preference of Sharp on 3rd line.

    Josh Anderson requests trade.

    #Blackhawks (expected traveling) lines:
    DeBrincat-Toews-Panik
    Hinostroza-Anisimov-Hayden
    Bouma-Kero-Wingels
    Dauphin-Kampf-Jurco

    Jordin Tootoo…1 game played.

Is that 3rd line the season opening 4th line?

Any news on Hossa and the NHL’s LTIR exam?

Only see one of Hayden or Kampf or Debrincat start year with Blackhawks anx round out top 9, be callup for Hossa which probably won’t be an issue, just NHL showing they are doing something after Lupul fiasco. First slate of games could see alot of Wingels , Jurco, Bouma and Tootoo with Kero on the 4th line then maybe move a couple of those and make room for a callup or two.

Like the Hawks, it looks like the Wings are playing only a smattering of their starters too. According to the Wings GDT – Zetterberg, Nyquist, Larkin, Tatar and a couple other starters will not play tonight. Likewise the Hawks will not have Kane, Schmaltz, Hartman, Keith and Seabrook. Seems like a pretty even match up regrading star players not playing.

Shaping up to have the following forward mix to start the regular season…
    Saad-Toews-Panik
    Hartman-Schmalltz-Kane
    Sharp-Anisimov-Jurco
    Bouma-Kero-Wingels

    And on defense….
    Keith-Murphy
    Franson-Seabrook
    Kempny-Ruuta

Let us hope Rufus is way off on the opening line projections for the Hawks. My grandmother is a faster skater than Franson. I would replace Wingels, Bouma and Jurco with Hayden, D-Cat and Kampf.

    Saad-Toews-Panik
    Anisimov-Schmaltz-Kane
    Hartman-Sharp-Hayden
    Bouma-Kero-Wingels

Hinostroza alternating with bouma and Wingels.

    Keith-Seabrook
    Kempny-Murphy
    Oesterle/Gustafsson- Rutta

Franson would be 7d or not sign. I don’t think they expected Rutta to be as good as he’s been and he may not be. Small sample size.

Keep the kids down as much as temptation is there to bring em up. Colliton must be salivating with Debrincat,Fortin, Kampf, Dauphin, Highmore, Noel, Forsling, Dahlstrom, Snuggerud, Raddysh.

Dcat and Hayden were best 2 skaters on ice tonite…
They both have to make roster

    Hino good too
Dauphin… all better than bouma and tootoo..
Wingels, is the best of those slow turds..

Kampf, still good… spoon fed Jurco in crease… jurco wiffed

    Forsberg solid

Pokka and forsling better than last games

Dcat didnt had Kane beside him but still found a way to get 2 pts ..
Like in junior he always find a way to be at the good place at the right time and what a nice pass to Franson before his goal
I still think he should go in Rockford but maybe i am wrong again …Iff he continue to play the way he played tonight Hawks will have a tought decision to make .

Murphy- guy scares me with at least one horrible TO per game…wonder if Murphy keeps playing like this… if He gets the Daley TOI/Q treatment???

Rutta, Franson, Osterle have all played better– for a lot less money… hope there is more- to Murphy

Toews- fell down again with no one around him???

I think D-Cat will start the year, if he stays I don’t know–but I’m sure he has intrigued the coach-GM. I know Rufus said no way (lol) but I think he will.
This guy will eventually do what he does–get lots of points.

I reserve the right to change my mind after the last preseason game (and probably many more times after that), but if I were to decide on the opening light lineup, based on nothing but putting the best 12/6/2 players on the ice – I would go with this:

    Saad-Toews-Panik
    Sharp-Schmaltz-Kane
    DeBrincat-Anisimov-Hartman
    Hinostroza-Kero-Hayden

    Keith-Rutta
    Kempny-Seabrook
    Forsling-Murphy

    Crawford
    Forsberg

I’m basically in total agreement with ER. Those are my dream lines with the possibility of switching sharp and Dcat.
Just got back from the game. I thought forsling looked impressive tonight. I liked his composure in front of the net defensively. Franson is incredibly slow, not only skating, but shooting and passing as well… however when he has time his instincts aren’t terrible and I fear he will make the opening roster. I’ve always loved hinistroza. I hope he sticks thirds year. Great speed and underrated vision I think.

Hayden has got to make the team. He has looked very solid and brings a much needed physical presence. At the start of camp I thought Dcat was destined for Rockford but he has been very impressive, it will be a tough call. Kero will be a solid 4th line center. Forsling is being given every opportunity to be in the top 6. I think his skating, passing and shot will give him a much longer leash with Q. It will be interesting to see what happens with the last couple of forward spots. It looks like Wingels makes it due to PK. Tootoo has to be gone and Jurco and Bouma are on the bubble. Hino starts in Rockford since he doesn’t need to clear waivers.

Didn’t really notice much out of kampf honestly. Kempny has a wicked slapshot. I’d like to see him on a pp unit. Debrincat was the top star of the game and they spelled his name bedrincat. TOTTI may have been running the jumbotron. Dcat does always seem to be in the right place, but fumbled the puck a bit as well. The Dough Joe was pretty impressive, though interior seemed rather cheap in terms of seats/materials. And constant little Caesar’s ads everywhere.

For opening day 12, 27, 40, 48, 64, 42, 44 and 56 will likely be reassigned with 2 of them recalled( 40 and 42/44) on day 2 after ltir and Franson signed. 47 and Berube to clear waivers. Oesterle to stay on roster.

  • September 29, 2017 at 7:33 am

48 likely recalled to stay at some point and 12 and maybe one or two more to get some playing time depending on if they feel they are ready or not. Jurco on the bubble and one of Bouma or Tootoo likely to be moved.

ER- love the forwards… because- No Jurco, Bouma, and TooToo

D – lineup probably right- But Let’s be honest… If Murphy Didn’t have $4M+ contract attached to his hip… He probably doesn’t even make the team- based On Pre-season play!!!

Snuggy- is better option than both Murphy/Forsling… Thank God for the Rutta find!!!

Anyone know- extent of Snuggy injury??? or Body Part???

G-Hawk- agreed… Probably Kampf’s least effective game… But he was playing with Jurco… Jurco- Is NOT good at hockey!!! Kampf also- took a Major hit… Inches away from- going into the Dark room… also- maybe a he is a little tired…
I think he has played in each game ( Q – seeing what is there… and testing the kid??? and giving him some “experience”)

Ian makes a really good point. The thing to keep in mind is that, even though a player might not make the opening night roster, he might not be in Rockford for long. Being the first or second callup is pretty important.

Having said that. Stan should waive Jurco, Bouma and Tootoo. No team is going to claim any of those three. Tootoo becomes Captain in Rockford.

    Keith-Murphy
    Forsling-Seabrook

Dauphin, Gustafsson and Kampf sent to Rockford. Pokka put on waivers.

Morrison; I think you will like Rutta. He has been my surprise of this years camp. Although very small sample size, seems like he skates above average, very strong on the boards, good out of zone. Very surprised how well he plays on the small ice, especially since this is his first time on it. Knock on him is “27 year old CZECH player”. I am probably over excited about him, but has stood out. I sure miss Hockey.
