There are 3 extra forwards and 2 extra d-men listed so not all of the guys on the list will play tonight. I’m going to guess Kampf, Jurco and Bouma will be the odd men out because they played in Columbus. The forward lines could be the same as Game#1 or very close. I hope Snuggerud plays tonight, although I doubt he has a legit chance to make the roster for Game#1.

Just saw Myer posted the d-pairs in practice this morning:

I’m excited to see the Snuggerud-Seabrook combo.

I’m giving a play-by-play of beat writer tweets from practice this morning :)

First Toews is not at practice this morning – no explanation given.

    Power Play groups:
PP1 – Keith, Sharp, Kane, Saad, Anisimov
PP2 – Snuggerud, Seabrook, Schmaltz, DeBrincat, Panik

If Forsling not pulling his weight why not give Snuggerud a shot. If they think he needs another year ther will still be ltir room to trade for a rental dman for this year.

Forsling may still make the team – I only have the one preseason game with which to assess his play, which I thought showed he wasn’t ready for the speed of the game in the d-zone. But there’s more preseason games and maybe he’ll show Q enough to stick – hopefully he does because that would be good for the team.

I have even less to go on in assessing Snuggerud’s readiness for the NHL, as I saw him in only 1 game – the final at Traverse City. He can skate very well, has good size and looks to have a good offensive game. I have no idea how he is in the d-zone against NHL players. Tonight will be a good test for him.

I like that 2nd PP unit better… add kane- and Home run

ER- good guess on who sits 13/64/Bouma… but really hoping Kampf gets shot/look on what he can do with the “A” players… perhaps- sit Toews… and Kampf plays- would love to see it.

I am starting to get feeling Q sees – Snuggy the same way I do… lot’s of upside… moves puck quickly… how will the kid handle the D side Board game versus NHLer’s– is really the Big question…. and only time will tell.

Biggest ??? how is the “A” team gonna look- following up the “Prospect” squad game Tues.???

    Forecheck/puck pursuit– prospects were great
Getting puck out of zone- thought Prospects were great too

Just saw where Myer tweeted Toews is out sick and won’t play tonight. So hopefully Q lets Kampf center that 1st line and leaves Schmaltz and Anisimov on lines 2 and 3.

I think PP units are best when they have certain ingredients – such as a guy adept and willing to stand in front of the net and screen the goalie and a cannon on the blue line. The other three guys are important too, obviously, but if you got the goalie screener and the cannon you have a big step forward in having a successful PP unit.

With Toews out hopefully they sit Bouma and Tootoo also. I liked how Jurco looked out there at Columbus. Kampf put him out there between Saad and Panik and give him a look.
    Like the D pairings.

(Ian) “will still be ltir room to trade for a rental dman for this year.” — if Franson gets a contract (foregone conclusion), why trade for any rental?

“Younger and faster” — Q really should develop Rutta, Kempny, and whoever plays his way into the remaining slot (Forsling, Snuggerud, Oesterle, ?) during the regular season. (That also might help not wear out Seabrook and Keith…)

If they are ready play them just saying there is an option if not, time well tell on that.

Cant bank space on ltir so might as well use it if needed.
