Blackhawks Send 3 To Team USA Tryouts
The Chicago Blackhawks are the only team in the NHL sending more than two players to the 2011 National Junior Evaluation Camp this August. Forward Kevin Hayes and defensemen Justin Holl and Stephen Johns – all 2010 draft picks – have received invitations.
The camp, held at Lake Placid, NY, will feature 40 of the best young hockey players in the United States competing for a spot on Team USA’s roster at the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championships.
Each of the three prospects just completed their freshman year in college. Hayes was at Boston College with his older brother Jimmy, who recently received an entry-level contract from the Hawks. Holl was at the University of Minnesota, while Johns was at Notre Dame.
