Blackhawks Send DeBrincat, 3 Others To Rockford

On Tuesday, the Blackhawks assigned forwards Tomas Jurco and Alex DeBrincat, defenseman Gustav Forsling and goaltender JF Berube to the IceHogs.

For Debrincat and Forsling, this is simply a paper transaction to get the Hawks salary cap compliant on time. Indications from coach Joel Quenneville is that both have made the Opening Night roster for the Blackhawks.

A good explanation of the “why” here from Capfriendly:

Jurco and Berube were on waivers Monday with Jordin Tootoo, who was placed on LTIR on Tuesday.

Less than 48 hours till puck drop … c’mon, can’t that dang clock move faster.

I’m excited. Course, I’m excited every year at this time, but that doesn’t lessen the excitement each year.

This is the first year that 2 of the original 3-Cup core players are gone – Hossa and Hjalmarsson. Sharp was the first core player to depart but I always considered him a half notch below Hossa, Hjalmarsson and Seabrook, who were a half notch below Keith, Toews and Kane.

I know we have to move on, but I would have liked to go into the season with:

    Saad-Toews-Hossa
    Sharp-Schmaltz-Kane
    DeBrincat-Anisimov-Panik
    Hayden-Kero-Hartman

    Keith-Hjalmarsson
    Kempny-Seabrook
    Forsling-Rutta

Q … You are gutless. Debrincat in the minors? He’s already better than half your team. Sure he’ll make a young mistake occasionally, but he can be a difference maker on every shift which is way more than I can say about most of the Hawks.

Hi Brad Allen …… DeBrincat will be on the team, this was just a paper transaction as Tab described above. He will be on one of the four lines Thursday night.

Thanks Tab for fixing the Trool problem .
Hawks have a completely new Face this year and we will have the chance to see more kids coming up to prove themselves.
I Hope Q will have the patients with those new kids .
DCat was good everywhere he was and i think that now with some off the best players in the NHL he will be at his best …patient will be needed with the 19 years old kid but i am sure he will adabt better then i tought a few months ago .
I still think he would need a few months in Rockford
