His last few games, he looked much better than Rozy but since he’s got a 2 way deal so he goes to make room for Timmonen, right?

Yes but with Oduya on injured reserve. Now the hawks have just 6 healthy defensemen.

I wonder if Stan was hoping Erixon would get claimed to get rid of that contract and might have knowledge that he is not getting claimed and that Erixon might end up staying with the Hawks.

Or perhaps Stan is clearing a roster spot for another defenseman.

    It’s all very mysterious.

Cumisky was playing well, he might not have the defensive skills some others possess, but he doesn’t cough the puck up in our end! rundblad does this nightly, unfortunately kieth did the same a few times last night. (possibly because the stress in the locker room is showing in his poor play last night)

We need a D man that can possess the puck and skate. Leddy (as many defensive problems he had) could get the puck up and down the ice for our forwards to do work. Same with TVR, and on occasion Oduya. Timonen is going to be slow, and Rozy has always been slow, and Runblad isn’t skilled enough…

Tab & others, so Erixon is subject to waivers but Cumiskey is not? Also, when are rosters able to expand beyond 23? Only in the playoffs?

Just some thoughts, B. Pirri 11 goals in 29 games, Shaw 9 in 60 games, J. Hayes 17 in 57, Versteeg 13 in 43, K. Hayes 12 in 57, Smith 5 in 61, Leddy 8 in 63, Oduya 2 in 60, Brower who we traded for Deneault has 18 in 63, our guy just average in AHL and 22 yr. old. Our Hawks who don’t score much sure could use some of that fire power. And we would have more size. With these moves that have been made I feel like this is spinning out of control. Come on Stan let’s make this right. And I know K. Hayes moved on but that was all set in motion by how the Hawks /Quenville operates. Am grateful for 2 cups but color me greedy, want more.

    @ Bill

Excellent comment, I agree that SB, has not got the talent back in many of the deals he’s made. As a matter of fact the more you look at it there are legit questions on who has SB actually brought to the team worth anything. On top of the trades you’ve referenced, remember Mary Turco, Montidor and Oleasz? He moved Buff for nothing, let Nemo and Ladd walk. Then signs Oduya and Rosy for extra years, and pisses away a huge year for Sharp and keeps him. The reason there was so much trade Sharp noise in the off season is it made the most damn sense. Sorry just ranting a bit with these teams erratic play lately

Kevin – I’m pretty sure that since Cumisky cleared waivers at the beginning of the year he doesn’t need to clear again at this time. Erixon has not been on waivers yet this year which is why he has to clear.

Thanks south side, I don’t blame Stan for everything, knowing his hands were tied 4 years ago, and don’t blame Tallon for that, only crime Tallon made was getting all that talent that was going to get paid by somebody. Just asking, is there any possibility that Bowman/Quenville turns out like Thibs and GAR/PAX, just not reported, and with 2 cups. Oh and you forgot about Bulin wall part 2, forgettable.

Bill and SSHM – It sounds like winning cups should be an easy thing. My recollection is that the 70’s, 80’s,90’s and 00’s didn’t produce any and now after two in four years you guys are ragging all over SB. Have a little perspective in your frustration – wishing we still had Pirri and Hayes is ridiculous and neither of you seem to consider the salary cap which is why Leddy, Buff, Niemi and Ladd left.

MS, yea that’s right. Theres a chart for age/games played for waivers but since 26 cleared already he was good to go and can be a depth guy.

    Nemo or Hammer. Hymmm.

This also frees up 1.2m more in cap space for the deadline adjustments.

Actually Ladd was traded to Atlanta but not for much. A Russian and a 2nd round pick which turned out to be Clendening.

Dahlbeck + a 1st for Vermette. Done. See most recent post on site.

Sounds like there are rumblings that maybe SB is not the GM that should lead the Blackhawks to the promised land , he got the job because of his name , Scotty Bowman is considered to be hockey royalty because he won a lot of games and cups with with outstanding talent Canadiens and Redwings etc. kind of like Phil Jackson . since the 2010 cup season his moves and talent judging are suspect but it is still to early to condemn him outright. the team is still Tallons core and low draft picks have hindered him I dont know what the future holds for the Hawks but all we can do is wait and see . a cup last year would have satisfied everyone for years but it didnt happen B
