On Thursday, the Blackhawks announced the club has signed defenseman Nolan Allan on a three-year, entry-level contract that runs through the 2023-24 season. The deal has a $870,000 salary cap hit.
Allan, 18, was the Blackhawks’ first round pick (No. 32 overall) in the 2021 NHL Draft.
He appeared in 16 games with the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL last season, scoring one goal with one assist. He scored one goal and added an assist in the 2021 IIHF U18 World Junior Championships, helping Canada capture the gold medal.
