Blackhawks Sign Alex Vlasic

On Tuesday afternoon the Chicago Blackhawks announced the club has signed defenseman Alex Vlasic to a three-year, entry-level contract. Vlasic was the Blackhawks’ second-round pick (No. 43 overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft.

The deal has a $824,167 salary cap hit and, according to the release, runs through the 2023-24 season — which means they’re burning the first year now. Vlasic is reportedly scheduled to join the Blackhawks on Thursday.

Good to get him signed and get a look at him play a few games this season. Not surprising he is burning an elc year, usually the way. Although Mitchell opted not to but could have, less contracts expiring when he needed to sign next deal if i am remembering right.

Big guy 6’6″ skates like a smaller guy and lots of shutdown potential.

    Ian,
Good to hear. I’m looking forward to seeing this kid on the ice. I’m not expecting him to be Seabrook (see his jersey number), at first. I’m just looking forward to having him and Regula on the ice at the same time. The defense is getting bigger. Welcome aboard kid.

I’m still on the McBain wagon. The Blackhawks would benefit from signing him if he doesn’t want to sign with Minnesota. The team could also get him with a 2nd Rd Pick, pending on if the kid signs with the organ-I-zation.

C’mon Davidson!!! Make the move!!! LOL!!! WOOOO!!!

Hope he’s gained some strength and weight, he was skinny as a rail when they drafted him.

Hammer elite prospects list him at 198lbs., only 20 be 21 in June so can easily add another 10 or 15 lbs.

I like Vlasic’s trajectory- could be a keeper

Him and Regula on the same D would be impressive – size and guys who can also skate

Just spit balling here. Everyone interested in Chychrun. Let’s throw our hat in there.
How about Beaudin and Mitchell for Chychrun. Gives us one opening on our D. If they want a pick give them TB’s #2.

Chychrun is going to be insanely expensive and he’s hurt (out 2-4 weeks currently).

Wrap Del Mastro in that mold as well, likely be another year in juniors though. 6’4″, good skater, plays physical too and may have best offensive game to boot.

Reports were Coyotes were offered 2 former 1st prospects and 1st round pick before he got hurt. Names like Spencer Knight, Kravtsov were thrown around as being part of the offers they had.

If they pair Vlasic and Regula the two of them can just touch hands in the center of the ice and each touch the boards on their side with their other hands. No one gets through!
