Blackhawks Sign Philipp Kurashev

On Tuesday the Blackhawks announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Philipp Kurashev on a three-year, entry-level contract that runs through the 2021-22 season. According to the release the deal has a $925,000 AAV.

Kurashev will remain with the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL) where he has 62 points (28 goals, 34 assists) in 57 games. He is an alternate captain for the Remparts this season.

Kurashev was originally drafted by Chicago in the fourth round (120th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.

    Does this mean he could play for RKF next year if he doesn’t make the Hawks or is he returned to junior?

    I think because he turns 20 before the end of the year (October) he is eligible to play in the AHL. Not 100% sure though – someone please confirm.

    Kurashev looked very good in the World Juniors.

    He is eligible for Rockford. His contact will count towards the 50 contract limit. But it can slide as long as he doesn’t play with the hawks next year.
